H Is For Hope

"Hope" is the thing with feathers --
That perches in the soul --
And sings the tune without the words --
And never stops -- at all --

And sweetest -- in the Gale -- is heard --
And sore must be the storm --
That could abash the little Bird
That kept so many warm --

I've heard it in the chillest land --
And on the strangest Sea --
Yet, never, in Extremity,
It asked a crumb -- of Me.

Enjoyed the poem. We all need a little hope in our lives. I hope I win the lottery and never need to work the day job again.

Of course that sounds a little selfish, but I would give to others as well and possibly fulfil their hopes!

That isn't selfish at all. It shows how real you are--you have real struggles and earthly ambitions.

I hope to have a nice house, a wife, 3 kids (2 boys and a girl), a car and a dog someday. Is that selfish? No. That is being real.

(Fo shizzle) :D

I guess me and you just won't work out - I want 2 girls and a boy! :p

Hee hee, sorry, couldn't resist!

That is a beautiful poem. Hope is an important thing to have, and a dangerous thing to lose.

Hi, enjoyed the poem tremendously! Hope is in my vocabulary every minute of every day. If you have ever read the Greek Myth called "Pandora's Box" you know that Hope was the last thing left in the box when all the troubles were released into the world. It cried to be let out, and so was released to be a help to all who believed in it. Best regards to you, Ruby

Posting this on my wall. I hope to all get out that I can look back on my life and know I've raised some great boys and kept up close friendships. :)

Hope is such a tender thing, stoked with just a little wind or a whisper, it can inspire wonderous things.
